  4. Xenon II - Mega Blast (level one preview)

  6. This demo is a taster of things to come: experience the power of the Xenon
  7. II ship and fly to destruction. Pick up the power-up's and credits to buy
  8. extra weapons. Contact Games Ware on 0703 456 523 for availability and
  9. price.

  11. Compatibility
  12. -------------
  13. The music play module from Desktop Tracker is not compatible with version
  14. V1.33 or earlier of the Pineapple VProtect virus killing module. VProtect 
  15. will have to be temporarily switched off, which is done automatically by
  16. the game. Upgrades to VProtect are available from Pineapple.
  17.  
  18. This demo has been written to be compatible with the following machines:
  19. * A3000 Risc OS 2 1Mb
  20. * All machines with Risc OS 2 or Risc OS 3 with 2Mb of Ram or more.

  22. The demo version is not guaranteed to work on the Acorn A4.
  23.  
  24. A3010 with 1Mb of Ram: You will have to reduce the font cache down to zero
  25. to allow the demo to run. Do this by using the Task Manager (click with
  26. Select on the Acorn icon on the iconbar and drag the relevant bar). Also
  27. make sure the desktop is in Mode 12 before running. If it does not run,
  28. decompress the game (as described in the help file), reset your machine and
  29. run the game in its decompressed form.

  31. Joysticks are supported. To use the Vertical Twist joystick interface
  32. simply load the Joystick application before playing the demo. On the A3010
  33. you are given the option to use joysticks when the demo is first loaded.

  35. Hints.
  36. ------
  37. To make the ship more manoeuvrable, shoot the spinning objects at the 
  38. beginning of the level, they then turn into spinning balls. Collect these
  39. and your ship will move faster.
  40.  
  41. Collect the spinning objects with 'C' on them, these are credits that you 
  42. will need to use to buy extra weapons.

  54. In the shop
  55. -----------
  56. When you first enter the shop, you have the option to sell weapons to gain
  57. extra credit. If you do not wish to sell anything then select  EXIT using
  58. the control keys and press RETURN. After this a selection of extras will
  59. appear, but only if you you have enough money. Select the item you want to
  60. buy and press RETURN twice to buy it. We recommend the 'NASHWAN', it's
  61. impressive.
